Description
Cyrille Rose was one of the most respected clarinetist and educator in the 19th century. He taught at the Paris Conservatory from 1876 to 1900. His "32 Studies for Clarinet" is a standard for all advancing clarinetists. All but one of these etudes were based on Franz Wilhelm Ferling's "Forty-Eight Etudes for Oboe, Op. 31," but arranged to become true clarinet pieces. The melodies were musical yet technical, a truly masterful approach to develop facility on the instrument as well as musicality and interpretations.
